Guest speaker: Mike Parker ‘In Wales, there are jewels to gather…’ – a whistlestop tour of Cymru’s quieter and quirkier corners, from someone who has been chronicling them for over thirty years.”Enjoy lunch and the stunning views from Caerwylan in the company of Mike Parker, the writer, broadcaster and map addict based in mid Wales who wrote and presented Coast to Coast and Great Welsh Roads for HTV Wales, in which he and his dog toured the country in a camper van.

Directions and Parking

Directions from Y Maes (the central square in Criccieth):

  1. From Y Maes, head southeast on Castle Street toward the seafront.

  2. Cross the railway level crossing immediately after the main crossroads

  3. After the level crossing, take the first left onto the Esplanade.

  4. Continue along the Esplanade, enjoying views of the sea on your right

  5. As you approach the Blue China Café, turn left up the hill

  6. After approximately 20 yards, turn right onto Beach Bank (a one-way street)

  7. The Caerwylan Hotel will be ahead on your left.

Parking Information:

  • Beach Bank offers free, unrestricted on-street parking. Please ensure not to block any driveways or entrances.

  • Additional free parking is available along the Esplanade, directly below the hotel. There are steps connecting the Esplanade to Beach Bank

  • The hotel has a small private car park at the rear; it’s advisable to book a space in advance. For access details, please inquire at the reception upon arrival
